It was my second time to Gwangju two months ago, since I had a friend with me, so I could finally seriously tried to search for some good food to try in Gwangju. (Well, I heard Gwangju has a lot of good food.) After some research online, we put this bakery on our list. This one has a few different branches and the main shop is located at Chungjangno at the centre of Gwangju, very convenient location for most tourists.
The most famous stuff in this place include the two I bought (shown in the pic above)- butterfly pie and dragon egg bread. I heard that butterfly pie is best served after microwaved, so I tried it that way. It is quite tasty, just that oil kept leaking from the pie after it was microwaved, I bet the fat content is quite high…
For the dragon egg bread (this translation is copied from Korean tourism website, do not say I have translated it wrongly), it is bread stuffed with egg and lots of egg. Before I tried it I thought it was just the surface with a bit of egg, after I finished it, I realised that there is really no bread, just egg! Filled with egg. My friend could not finish it, she said there was way too much egg inside.
I think both of them worth trying.
The main shop is located near the Culture Complex station, and location is marked in the map below.
